Groundbreaking discovery found in Carmel cave

None

Researchers at Tel Aviv University and the University of Haifa found a jaw bone in a Carmel region cave that is anatomically identical to a similar jaw previously found belonging to modern humans (Homo sapiens), which was more than 170,000 years old. The researchers said that its discovery significantly changes the date of the migration of our species from Africa, which until now had been estimated to be about 100,000 BCE.
