Palestinians: We will request UN recognition of state

The PLO committee, headed by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas announced that they will turn to the UN Security Council and General Assembly during the coming month to request the establishment of a Palestinian state based on 1967 borders, with its capital in East Jerusalem.
Members of the council asked that all cooperation with Israel, including security coordination, be called off.
