Population and Immigration Authority hands out deportation notices

Israel's Population and Immigration Authority handed out deportation notices to asylum seekers from Eritrea and Sudan when they sought to renew their residence permit on Sunday.
The candidates for deportation are single men who were not able to submit a request for asylum by January 1, 2018. They were summoned to a hearing, during which they could make their case before being expelled to Rwanda.
If their arguments are not accepted and they do not "voluntarily" leave within two months, they face imprisonment at the Saharonim Prison in the Negev.
