Ashdod Shabbat protests: hundreds protesting in city council meeting

Hundreds of Ashdod residents demonstrated at a city council meeting attended by Mayor Yehiel Lasry against ramped up enforcement of laws relating to businesses operating on Shabbat.
"We're here at the city council meeting to see the mayor—who never bothered to publically come out to speak to residents—for the first time," said one of the protest's leaders.
