Erdan backs up police, says PM deserves presumption of innocence

None

Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan spoke at the Knesset plenum on the police's recommendation to indict Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for bribery, and said he supported the police, an organization which he oversaw.

He did, however, stress that the attorney general's final decision on indictment should be awaited and said the prime minister deserved the presumption of innocence.

On Police Commissioner Roni Alsheikh's claims that investigators on Netanyahu's affairs were tailed, he said, "I expect the attorney general to examine this issue, over which I have been losing sleep."
