Courts to consider extending arrest of Nir Hefetz in Case 4000

The courts will consider Monday whether or not to extend the remand of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's former media advisor Nir Hefetz in the Bezeq investigation, also known as Case 4000.

Police will not request however that his arrest is extended for Case 1270 in which he is suspected of offering a former district court president a promotion to attorney general in exchange for closing the case against the prime minister's wife, Sara, for alleged forgery of receipts and misuse of public funds, also referred to as the Prime Minister's residences affair.

No remand extension will be sought by police for Eli Kamir, the former Bezeq strategic advisor involved in the affair. He will be discharged under restrictive conditions. Kamir is currently being investigated by police.
