New envoy to Jordan appointed
The government unanimously approved the appointment of Amir Weissbrod as Israel's ambassador to Jordan. The Foreign Ministry will send an official request to Jordan to approve the appointment in the coming days.
Weissbrod replaces Einat Schlein, who was forced to step down following the shooting incident at the embassy last year and the ensuing political rift between Israel and Jordan.
