AG seeks further suspension of Ashkelon Mayor

Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit submitted a request to the commission examining the suspension of heads of local authorities to extend the suspension of Ashkelon Mayor Itamar Shimoni by another year.
Mandelblit also sought to extend the rest of the restrictions imposed on the mayor.
Shimoni is accused, inter alia, of accepting bribes from businessmen and of money laundering.
