MK Tamar Zandberg reprimanded for calling Likud members 'friends of Nazis'

None

The Knesset Ethics Committee decided to reprimand MK Tamar Zandberg (Meretz) after she called members of the Likud "friends of Nazis" when she was removed from a hearing in January on the planned mass expulsion of African immigrants.

Zandberg's remark was made to express her disdain at the coalition's connection to right-wing nationalists and Holocaust deniers from Poland and Austria, and their feigned ignorance of the genocide taking place in Rwanda—the country which they intend to deport the illegal immigrants to, possibly risking their lives and well-being.

Three MKs from the Likud filed a complaint against Zandberg's harsh remark.

The committee determined that due to the fact that this was Zandberg's first deviation from the rules of proper conduct, and the fact that the remark was made in the heat of the moment during a tumultuous discussion, it is enough to reprimand her.
