Suspected car thief attempts to run cops over near Jericho, is shot and moderately wounded

A Palestinian was moderately wounded by police officers' gunfire while he was driving a vehicle suspected to be stolen near the entrance to Jericho.
Police deployed roadblocks in the region following reports of three vehicles that were stolen in the Dead Sea's Neve Midbar area.
The police said officers began a suspect arrest protocol and flagged the vehicle down, but it continued driving and attempted to run them over. The Palestinian was taken to Jerusalem's Hadassah Ein Karem Hospital.
