Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked has signed the first pardon recommendations for Independence Day. Recommendations will be forwarded to President Reuven Rivlin for review.
Among the recommendations signed by Shaked is a proposal to pardon a combat soldier who served in the first Lebanon War and who suffers from PTSD, who is incarcerated for growing cannabis for personal use.
"There's no better day to send a message of encouraging rehabilitation for those who have fought in Israel's wars," the minister commented.
