President Reuven Rivlin expressed his sorrow on Friday about the death of 10 teens in southern Israel, caused by a flash flood during a school trip.
"Great sorrow overwhelms the country this morning. We've lost amazing children, the elite of our youth. Full of promise and expectations, it breaks my heart," said Rivlin.
"I send the grieving families my condolences and pray, together with all the nation, that they will know happier times," he lamented.
"I ask to thank all the rescue teams, the IDF, the police forces and the volunteers for 24 hours of their tremendous efforts. I call on all Israel's citizens to tour the country only after making sure it is safe. Don't take any unnecessary risks," he concluded.
