State comptroller's report: Delay in handling asylum requests a breach of int'l obligations

Deficiencies and delays in handling requests for asylum from migrants comprise a breach of Israel's international obligations, the state comptroller's report claimed.
"The state has yet to take concrete actions to guarantee the migrants' basic human rights," the report said. "This is not only an abdication of its duty, but also damaging to the country's citizens, especially in certain areas."
