Home Front Command chief: '2.5 million Israelis without shelters'

GOC Home Front Command Maj.-Gen. Tamir Yadai divulged during a hearing of the Knesset's Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee's subcommittee on home front preparedness that 2.5 million Israeli civilians were without shelters.
Twenty-seven percent of public shelters did not meet requirements, he explained, and 40 of the 50 national infrastructures designated have yet to be fortified.
In addition, only 35 percent of vital services have been fortified.
