Israel says it expects world to condemn Gaza rocket fire

Following massive rocket fire from Gaza at Israeli communities by the Islamic Jihad and Hamas, the Foreign Ministry issued a letter to all Israeli diplomats around the world, instructing them, inter alia, to work with local decision-makers and media to emphasize Israel's right to defend and its expectation of unequivocal condemnation of Gaza's terror groups.
Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip fired at least 50 rockets and mortars into southern Israel on Tuesday, the largest barrage since the 2014 war between Israel and Hamas.
Earlier Tuesday, Emanuele Giaufret, the EU envoy to Israel, tweeted that "indiscriminate attacks are totally unacceptable and to be condemned unreservedly." Irish Foreign Minister Simon Coveney tweeted that "this Hamas led violence undermines Palestinian cause + is counterproductive to political progress."
Meanwhile, US Special Representative for International Negotiations Jason D. Greenblatt condemned the firing from the strip, slamming Hamas for failing its citizens.
Reprehensible—mortars fired from Gaza at a kindergarten and community in Israel! Hamas has failed—all it can offer is terror. Palestinians in Gaza need real leaders to work on Gaza’s real problems with its water, its economy and so much more.
