The State Attorney's Office appealed to the Supreme Court on Sunday against the light punishment given to Ben Deri, a Border Police officer who was convicted of the negligent homicide of a 17-year-old Palestinian teenager.
Deri, who admitted to the charges, received a 9-month sentence and probation and was ordered to pay compensation to the victim’s family.
The prosecution believes the punishment given to Deri does not fit the nature of the crime.
