Report: Abbas to form unified national government

“Asharq al-Awsat” newspaper reported on Monday that according to Palestinian sources the President of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, is interested in establishing a unified national government that includes Hamas.
The sources emphasize that Abbas seeks to form a government led by the former Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad.
The report says the two already held a meeting regarding the issue.
