NASA to consider sending second Israeli astronaut to space

Science and Technology Minister Ofir Akunis met with the new head of the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration Jim Bridenstine in Jerusalem Thursday and expressed Israel’s desire to send a second Israeli astronaut to space. Bridenstine declared NASA’s interest in the proposal and the two agreed to expand cooperation on matters such as the International space station and earth science research. Bridenstine, will also speak to students in Jerusalem and discuss future joint space plans with officials from the Israel Space Agency.
