Leptospirosis scare causes drop in water tourism
The number of visitors to north Israel’s water destinations dropped abruptly due to Leptospirosis scare, the Nature and Parks Authority said Saturday.
Most national parks with water attractions now host only half the amount of visitors they did last Saturday.
At Hurshat Tal, numbers dropped from 1,800 to 800 in a week. In Nahal Senir, visitor numbers dropped from 1,650 last Saturday to 700 this Saturday, and in Gan Hashlosha only 1,700 visitors were counted, 1100 less than last week.
