Hamas: 'If efforts for calm fail, we will continue jihad'

Khalil al-Hayya, deputy Hamas leader in Gaza, said Thursday that "Egypt and the United Nations have made great progress in the efforts for calm in the region, and we ask them to finish what they promised us. If the efforts fail, we will continue our jihad and struggle."

The senior official added that the organization is working towards reducing the launching of incendiary balloons at Israeli communities in order to allow the parties to continue their efforts for calm.
