An Israeli-American citizen arrested in the Philippines

The Philippine police arrested Thursday Oren Shlomo Meyer, an Israeli-American citizen suspected of murdering and dismembering the body of a Canadian teacher in Taiwan.

Meyer fled from Taiwan to the Philippines on August 25, two days after police found the teacher's dismembered body.

The two countries have an extradition agreement and Meyer is likely to be transferred to Taiwan soon, where the death penalty is imposed
