Lapid: Council of Torah Sages are government’s real bosses

Yesh Atid party leader Yair Lapid slammed Monday the government's delay in reaching a decision about the new IDF draft law, implying that rabbis were the ones really running the country.

“Yesterday, a meeting of the coalition heads was supposed to take place, but it was cancelled. That’s because the Council of Torah Sages has not yet decided on its stand regarding the draft law,” Lapid said at his Yesh Atid faction meeting.

“The government is not even acting as if it is deciding on anything. It was waiting for its real bosses,” Lapid continued.
