Bomb explodes at the head office of the Jewish community in Tatarstan, Russia

An explosive envelope sent to the president of the Jewish community of Tatarstan, Russia, exploded Monday morning in Kazan, capital of Tatarstan.

As a result of the explosion the president and his aide were injured and evacuated to a local hospital.

The police have launched an investigation, but it is not yet clear whether the incident was a criminal or an anti-Semitic hate crime. Investigators said the case is investigated as an attempted murder.
