PIID recommends prosecuting cop slapping demonstrator in Rahat

The Police Internal Investigations Department (PIID) recommended Thursday to open disciplinary proceedings against a Yasam (special forces) police officer, who slapped a demonstrator protesting in the Bedouin city of Rahat in May.

The PIID said there is sufficient evidence to charge the police officer with using disproportionate force.
