Germany to compensate hundreds who fled Nazis as children

None

The organization that handles claims on behalf of Jews who suffered under the Nazis says Germany has agreed to one-time payments to survivors who were evacuated from Germany as children.

The New York-based Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany said Monday that Germany will make a payment of 2,500 euros ($2,800) to each of those still living among the 10,000 people who fled on the so-called "Kindertransport."
