Bezalel Smotrich wins National Union leader race; Uri Ariel expected to retire from politics

MK Bezalel Smotrich was elected to head the National Union Party at primaries held in Jerusalem on Monday.
Smotrich won 83 votes, compared to Minister Uri Ariel, who only received 40. Ariel is now expected to retire from political life after 23 years.
