Judicial appointment scandal: attorney and judge put on house arrest

The Magistrate's Court judge and the attorney who were questioned by police as part of the investigation into ethical offenses regarding the appointments of two judges, were released to house arrest on Wednesday.

According to the police, the judge is suspected of committing a felony in order to advance her appointment to the judicial position. The lawyer is allegedly involved in attempts to illegally promote a magistrates' court judge to a District Court position.

It was also reported that three members of the committee for the appointment of judges have testified.
