Facebook blocks Iranian manipulation campaign against Israel

Facebook announced Thursday that it has ended a new massive manipulation campaign, orchestrated by Iran and directed against many countries, including Israel, the second in a few months.

The social network said it had removed 783 pages, groups and accounts that promoted Iran 's interests on sensitive issues such as the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Syria and Yemen by creating fake Facebook identities.

Among the examples of deleted messages provided by Facebook , a drawing with the comment: "Al Quods (Arabic name of Jerusalem) is the eternal capital of Palestine."
