Netanyahu: AG is caving in to left-wing pressure

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Friday slammed Attorney General Avihai Mandelblit on his Facebook page, accusing him of surrendering to pressure from the Left and the media.
"The left wing and the media are pressuring the attorney general to file an indictment against me at any cost. This is one of the most crucial decisions in Israel's history that might bring the Left to power, and it is being made hastily," Netanyahu wrote on the social network.
Earlier, Mandelblit announced that there is no legal reason to prevent him from indicting Netanyahu on corruption charges before the elections, and that suspending the legal process would "violate the principle of equality before the law" and interfere with "the public's right to know."
