General: 1,200 missiles were fired at empty targets in Protective Edge

According to a document obtained by Ynet, Maj. Gen. Yair Golan said that the IAF futilely fired 1,200 precise missiles at empty targets out of exasperation during Operation Protective Edge. He wrote that the top brass’s lack of faith in the ground forces and the concern over loss of lives sent a message to the young soldiers and caused irreparable morale damage.
