Egyptian delegation cancels visits to Gaza after rocket strike on Israel

A delegation of Egyptian intelligence officials on Monday cancelled its planned visit to the Gaza Strip, ahead of an anticipated IDF response to rocket fire on a central Israel home that left seven people wounded.

The delegation was part of Egyptian efforts to broker a lull in clashes between Israel and the Palestinians along the Gaza border.

Cairo is now reportedly attempting to avert a major conflagration in Gaza.
