An IDF officer who was seriously wounded in Gaza in 2014 will light a torch in the Jerusalem ceremony to mark the start of Israel's Independence Day celebrations.
Colonel Shai Siman-Tov was gravely hurt when a terrorist tunnel he was inspecting collapsed on him during the fighting in Gaza, but returned to service in 2015.
