Doctor with cerebral palsy to light Independence Day torch

A doctor with cerebral palsy has been invited to light a torch at the Independence Day ceremony in Jerusalem on May 8.

Dr. Hodaya Uliel, who has recently begun her internship in Kaplan Medical Center, is the first woman doctor in Israel with cerebral palsy.

Explaining their choice, the ministerial committee that chooses the torch bearers said Uliel "represents the objective of integrating people with disabilities in our society."
