Head of Supreme Court calls court's independent 'corner stone of democracy'

Esther Hayut, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, said Tuesday that the independence of the legal system is "one of the corner stones of democracy."

Hayut was referring to Prime Minister Netanyahu's legislation initiatives, set to push a proposed law allowing members of Knesset to overturn supreme court ruling, with only a regular majority.
