US President Donald Trump is not interested in war with Iran and prefers a diplomatic solution, said an unnamed senior administration official to the Washington Post Thursday.
According to the source, Trump “wants to talk to the Iranians; he wants a deal,” and is open to negotiations.
The Washington Post further reported that the president is frustrated with his advisers, who he believes could rush the US to a military intervention, despite Trump's promise to his public to avoid costly overseas wars.
