European Broadcast Union: Palestinian, Israeli flag on Madonna's dancers shirts wasn't part of plan
The European Broadcast Union said Sunday that Madonna did not inform them that her dancers will be wearing Palestinian and Israeli flags on their backs during last night's Eurovision song contest.
"The Eurovision isn't a political contest and Madonna knew this," said the statement, and added that the Islandic participants, who also waved a Palestinian flag during the show, will be subject to a punishment determined by the competition's managing committee.
