Saudi Arabia confirms ministerial participation in Bahrain economic workshop

In an official government statement, the UAE stressed the workshop will advance and support a political solution for peace between the Palestinians and Israelis.

Saudi Arabia and the UAE confirm their participation in roll-out of the Trump peace plan in Bahrain next month.

 

 

The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported the Minister of Economy and Planning of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Mazyad Al-Tuwaijri is scheduled to take part in the workshop titled "Peace for the sake of Prosperity" to be held on 25 and 26 June 2019.

The report went on to say that the minister's participation in this event is a continuation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's firm positions in support of the Palestinian people in a way that will achieves their "hopes and aspirations and yields security, stability and prosperity for the region".

 

The UAE has also confirmed its participation in the economic workshop hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain in cooperation with the United States.

In a statement, UAE's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation said "The UAE supports all international efforts aimed at supporting economic progress and increasing opportunities in the region, and alleviating the suffering of people in the region, particularly our brothers in Palestine.''

 

The ministry's statement adds that the workshop aims to "lift the Palestinian people out of misery and to enable them for a stable and prosperous future".

 

The statement goes on to say that the is not in conflict with the UAE’s position on the issue of Palestine and reiterates that "such efforts will only advance and support a political solution that culminates in lasting and comprehensive peace between the Palestinians and Israelis."

On Tuesday, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas's spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh, said "Any plan without a political horizon will not lead to peace"

 

 

 

Earlier Palestinian Prime Minister, Mohammad Shtayyeh, the Palestinians " do not submit to blackmail and we don't trade our political rights for money."
