Acting police chief to officers: Protesters not allowed to block main traffic routes

Acting Israel Police Moti Cohen tells officers that there will no tolerance for protesters who block main traffic arteries during the ongoing demonstrations over the death of Ethiopian Israeli teen Solomon Tekah, who was shot dead by an off-duty officer on Sunday.

During the recent events, some of the protesting public - lawbreakers - took advantage of our desire to allow legitimate protest and behaved extremely violently toward police and civilians," Cohen writes in a message to officers.

"There will be no room for riots, road blockages or displays of violence," he says.
