Deputy Health Minister Yaakov Litzman denies allegations of fraud, bribery and breach of trust stemming from two separate police investigations.
"My conscience is clear," Litzman says, "I will prove my innocence."
The deputy minister, who heads the ultra-Orthodox United Torah Judaism party, is accused of helping an alleged child rapist escape her extradition to Australia and of intervening to protect a deli in Jerusalem accused of health violations. Police have recommended he be charged in both cases.
