Netanyahu sends Putin official clemency request for jailed Israeli

Prime MInister Benjamin Netanyahu has submitted an official request to Russian President Vladimir Putin for clemency for an Israeli woman jailed in Russia over drug offences, his office says.
Naama Issachar, 26, was sentenced to seven and a half years in jail for having 9.5 grams of marijuana in her bag at a Moscow airport during a stopover from India to Israel in April.
