Mother of Israeli jailed in Russia: We have to free her before winter

The mother of a young Israeli jailed in Russia on a drug conviction says she hopes her daughter will be released before winter begins.

Naama Issachar is serving a seven-year sentence after she was detained in April at a Moscow airport during a stopover from India to Israel with 9 grams of cannabis in her bags.

Her family say the stiff sentence she received is due to Russian effort to prevent the extradition an alleged Russian hacker from Israel to the U.S.
