Ramat Gan Mayor Carmel Shama-Hacohen announces a "Sabababus" project, an initiative by the central city to operate public transport on weekends, starting December 31.
Shama-Hacohen said the ultra-Orthodox parties' demands to outlaw public transport on Shabbat as a condition for joining any government were "their right to propose," but added that "it is our duty to fight and win this just and righteous struggle. The only thing hurting Shabbat is coercion."
