The man, a resident of the northern community of Hinanit, denied the allegations at first, saying that he did not understand why he was arrested.
Superintendent Avi Danieli, commander of the Zichron Ya'akov police station, told Ynet, "In the past two weeks we received seven complaints from parents of children aged six to nine, who said a man had arrived in a private car at different and open places in Givat Ada, had rolled down his pants and had begun touching his genitalia in front of the children.
"After he was done committing the indecent acts in front of them, he left the place, leaving the children shocked and confused. After we received the man's profile and a description of his acts, which were similar in all cases, and located the vehicle he was driving, he was arrested and questioned at the station."
Police estimated that following the suspect's arrest, additional complaints would be received from other children in Givat Ada and in other northern communities.
On Saturday evening police plan to ask the court to extend the man's remand, and he will be questioned again in the coming days.
