UN secretary-general: Israel using excessive force

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon condemned Israel's use of "excessive force" and called for an immediate ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.

In a speech to Muslim nation member-states, Ban said that "Israel is hurting innocent people and it must restrain itself." (AFP)
