Catch 'Srugim' in Toronto

Israeli TV series presenting portrait of religious Jewish 30-something singles in Jerusalem to play out in two screening rooms in Canadian city on February 21, 28

TJFF is screening "Srugim" on February 21 as part of their "Chai Tea and a Movie" program. Set in modern-day Jerusalem, "Srugim" presents a smart yet funny portrait of religious Jewish 30-something singles.

The men and women of this award-winning TV show seek to reconcile their religious observance and expectations from their parents to marry early, with their need for companionship.

Because it focuses on the struggle of finding love, the Israeli TV series has been able to speak to a wide audience that includes both religious and secular viewers.

"Srugim" will play out in two screening rooms in Toronto. The first screening takes place on February 21 at Silver City Richmond Hill. The next screening will take place the following week on February 28 at the Cineplex Odeon Sheppard Centre Cinemas.

Tickets are $15 at the door. For advance tickets and more information, call 416-967-1528.
