Tal Russo to replace Galant as Southern Command chief

Defense Minister Ehud Barak confirmed Thursday that Major-General Tal Russo, IDF Operations Directorate head, will be appointed Southern Command chief in place of Major-General Yoav Galant, the next IDF chief of staff.

The decision was made in coordination with IDF Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi and Galant. It was also decided that Brigadier-General Aviv Kochavi will be promoted to major-general and will be appointed Military Intelligence Directorate chief. (Ynet)
