Canada: Kosher chocolate chip cookies recalled

Small round metal pieces approximately one-millimeter in diameter keeping President's Choice product out of hands of Jewish children in Ontario

President’s Choice Decadent Chocolate Chunk Cookies have been recalled in Canada. The kosher cookie that has the most chocolate chip chunks allowed in a cookie and made with real peanut butter has been recalled from Loblaws grocery stores across Canada, starting with Brampton, Ontario.

What’s keeping the chocolate chunk goodness out of the hands of Jewish children in Ontario? Small round metal pieces approximately one-millimeter in diameter.

The affected products were a package of eight cookies weighing about 352 grams with the Universal Product Code (UPC) of 0 6038383903 8. The cookies are sold and enjoyed by customers of Loblaws and other affiliated independent stores.

The cookies may be returned for a full refund even without the receipt.

President’s Choice apologized for recall concerns to disappointed chocolate chip cookie lovers while claiming it takes the health and safety of its customers very seriously.

All cookies have been removed from store shelves across the country. Loblaws assured its customers that it is committed to ensuring their health and safety as a primary concern along with reiterating its commitment to providing their customers with a safe and clean environment. Loblaws added that their stores provide customers with products that are produced, sourced and handled responsibly.
