Lance Armstrong's yellow "cancer bracelet" paves way for other colors, causes
TEL AVIV - Pharmacy chain Super-Pharm is set to offer multicolored bracelets in support of the fight against cancer, capitalizing on a fad started by U.S. cycling champ Lance Armstrong.
Armstrong recently introduced a yellow bracelet in support of the fight against cancer, which has become a big hit in Israel, too.
Following Armstrong's example, proceeds from bracelet sales here will be forwarded to the local Cancer Society.
A few weeks ago, a local non-profit organization began distributing a pink bracelet meant to show solidarity with breast cancer victims.
Starting next month, Super-Pharm will be offering blue, white, pink, and green bracelets at stores across the country.
The new bracelets will carry the slogan "ForLife."
The new imitative was launched by Super-Pharm owner Leon Koffler and the Cancer Society's Deputy Chairman Leon Recannati.
Notably, settlers who oppose the Gaza pullout plan have recently introduced an orange bracelet as part of their campaign for a national referendum on disengagement.
