Alcatel to acquire local start-up
French telecom giant in advanced stages of negotiation to purchase Native Networks
French giant Alcatel Telecom is engaged in advanced negotiations to acquire Petah Tikva-based start-up company Native Networks for an estimated USD 55 million.
Founded in 1999 by Gilad Goren and Menahem Kaplan, Native Networks supplies flexible and efficient Metro Ethernet services over existing and planned fiber infrastructure.
The company, which kicked-off its activities with a base investment of USD 1.8 million, raised a total of USD 42.8 million in three financing rounds. The total investments in the company reached USD 44.6 million dollars.
Local venture capital firm JVP is the main company shareholder with 16 percent in holdings.
Other key Native Networks investors include Alta Berkeley Venture Partners, Anschutz Investment Company, and Apax Partners.
