Knesset Member Eldad on the move

Right-wing Knesset Member Arieh Eldad announced on Monday that he is moving to the Sa-Nur settlement, slated for evacuation in the framework of the pullout plan

TEL AVIV - Knesset Member Arieh Eldad (National Union) said on Monday that he will move to the northern West Bank settlement of Sa Nur, slated to evacuation in the framework of the disengagement plan.

Eldad said he will enter his new residence as early as Tuesday morning.

Although the move would violate military orders barring Israelis from moving to the areas intended for evacuation this summer, Eldad said he wants to boost the spirits of Sa-Nur locals before the pullout.

Eldad is not alone

Knesset Member Effie Eitam has also declared his intention to move to Gush Katif by Passover, despite a similar military ban.

Eitam already informed the Gaza Shore Regional Council Head Avner Shimony that he will be moving with his wife and eight children. Currently, the family resides in the Golan Heights.

As both Eitam and Eldad enjoy legal immunity, officials said legal actions are not likely to be taken against them should they go ahead with their plans.
